Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS®

West Yarmouth, MA
United States

Induction Date

Chartered in 1926 as one of the early pioneers in the Board of REALTORS® movement and headquartered in West Yarmouth, the 2,061-member Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® (CC&IAOR) encompasses the entire cape, in addition to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

According to Association CEO Henry J. DiGiacomo, ABR®, CC&IAOR has steadily expanded. “We continue to be in a growth mode, both with respect to gaining newly licensed practitioners and in converting non-members licensees to member REALTORS®.

The Association’s growth in REBAC activity has been equally ambitious. Since establishing their relationship with REBAC in 2000, CC&IAOR has provided ABR® education to 1,327 students. In addition to their ABR® Designation course sessions, CC&IAOR has also offered the Innovating Marketing Techniques for Buyer Representatives elective course five times and the new Resort and Second Home Niche course once. This summer CC&IAOR hosted NAR’s Resort and Second Home Symposium and Workshop, attended by over 206 participants from 38 states, Canada and Mexico, many of whom are buyer representation specialists.

As CC&IAOR’s president-elect James H. Crocker Jr. sees it, “Members comment that their participation in REBAC programs and educational offerings has given them the understanding and background they need to attract and represent buyer-clients in the real estate transaction. Perhaps even more importantly”, he adds, “both buyers and sellers in the Cape Cod & Islands marketplace enjoy expanded options for representation in the real estate transaction as a result of such a significant number of our members taking the ABR® Designation course.”
