Marcie Roggow, ABRŪ, ABRMsm was a lucky victim of circumstance. She was supporting her family by caring for young children in her home when a phone call from her father, Len Eichhorn, a real estate broker in Lincoln, Nebraska, got her started on the road to success in real estate. And, three decades later, she is owner of the South Dakota-based Creative Learning Concepts, LLC, a real estate education company specializing in training in agency matters and risk management. And now her extensive work in training over the 30 years since she took her father's advice has earned her a place in the REBAC Hall of Fame.
Roggow says she began to see the winds of change transforming the real estate industry in the middle 1980s, when disclosure laws began to be enacted. Active at the time in the local REALTORŪ Associations in Iowa where she was based, she began teaching disclosure classes to help a friend who had more students than she could handle. "One day I was at a convention in Minnesota and heard a presentation about buyer representation," she says. "It was making so much sense that at that time I knew I was going to train on agency and buyer agency issues." And so she did.
