PROFESSIONAL STATUS AND REAL ESTATE BOARD/ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES

My background in real estate extends back to 1987 when I became a licensed agent in the United States. The majority of my experiences and affiliations were in Massachusetts and West Virginia prior to my moving to Edmonton Alberta in September of 1999. This included active membership on the local board level and membership in the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MABA), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Since relocating to Edmonton Alberta Canada and obtaining my real estate agent license in January of 2000 I have been a member of the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton, the Alberta Real Estate Board, and the Canadian Real Estate Association. On October 1st, 2002 I became the broker/owner of STEAD - Exclusive Buyer Agency. STEAD was renamed Buyer Agent Brian & Company Real Estate in January 2011.

At the local board level, my activities have included serving on the Arbitration and Professional Standards Committee for 10 years, two terms on the Audit Committee, and am currently serving a three year term on Member Services as well  as participating in various ad hoc and strategic planning committees.

At the provincial level, I was involved with AREA’s Affordable Housing Initiative, and was a designated local representative for this initiative. In this capacity I made numerous presentations on AREA’s behalf both to the private and not-for-profit sectors. A number of the projects further detailed in this resume were as a direct result of that initiative.

HONOURS

February 2011, recognized as Realtor of the Year by the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton.

November 2011, inducted into the REBAC (Real Estate Buyer Agency Council) Hall of Fame.

2012, recognized by CEASE Edmonton with the Men of Honour award.

2019 SRES Outstanding Service Award.
