The past several years, REBAC has conferred Hall of Fame honors to a real estate schools and REALTORS® associations which, as organizations, demonstrate the same attributes we look for in individual inductees. This year, REBAC recognizes the Institute of Florida Real Estate Careers (IFREC) for its contribution to buyer representation education.
IFREC is Central Florida's and largest accredited real Estate school and, founded in1983, also its oldest. Headquartered in Orlando, has classrooms there, but conducts REBAC courses throughout Florida, in locations that include: Tampa, Kissimmee, Tavares, Clermont, Merritt Island, Melbourne, Stuart, Vero Beach, and Lakeland.
Such extensive geographic coverage is but one aspect that contributes to IFREC’s reputation. Partnering with local Boards and Associations throughout the state has also contributed to their success. “The positive feedback from our 7,000 members about the professionalism and on-the-mark instruction they receive from IFREC's instructors makes us look great,” said Belton Jennings, CEO of the Orlando Regional REALTORS® Association. “Our long time partnership with IFREC has made a major difference in the quality and quantity of our Association's education programs.”
IFREC President Richard “Dick” Fryer and Director Judy Fryer have structured their overall curriculum in such a manner as to offer classes for anyone interested in a real estate career. As they describe it, “A career in real estate starts with IFREC Real Estate Schools and continues with personal development courses, earning prestigious designations and certifications offered exclusively by IFREC.”
Dick is well positioned to recognize the routes to success in a real estate. Over the course of his career, he has served as: president of the Orlando Regional REALTORS® Association, REBAC Advisory Board member, RealtyU National Advisory Council member, president of the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA), and director for the National Association of REALTORS® and for the Florida Association of REALTORS. In 2002, he was named Florida Association of REALTORS® Educator of the Year, and honored as Florida REALTORS® of the Year in 2004.
