Induction Date

The first husband-and-wife team of buyer's representatives to be inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame have distinguished themselves as real estate educators for almost twenty-five years. The hard-working couple, who run the Tucson-based Hogan School of Real Estate, have been together in business and in life since 1979, when Jim (ABRŪ) hired Esther as director of the school he founded in 1973. The school offered a commercial buyer's education course as early as 1974. Today it is one of the country's leading private schools for real estate continuing education and certification in the ABRŪ course. While Jim calls himself the "official greeter" of the school, his title is actually president. He quickly credits Esther, who is the school's director, as "the one who really runs the show."

The Hogans work closely with REBAC Hall of Fame member Curtis Hall, ABRŪ, of RE/MAX Anasazi in Phoenix, whom they credit for helping build the school's ABRŪ program. Hall is an ABRŪ instructor at the school. "Curtis has been a real linchpin in our classes," Jim Hogan says. "He travels to California and Hawaii to teach our classes and I am thrilled with the relationship we have with him. He represents the quality of people and the spirit that REBAC stands for."

The Hogans, who became affiliated with REBAC in 1994, believe that buyer's representation is "finally in the mainstream" of real estate. They continue to support the REBAC mission of keeping buyer's representation on the leading edge of real estate. "REBAC is clearly way out on the forefront of buyer representation," says Jim.

There are more than 30 instructors at the Hogan School. Seven, including Jim, teach the ABRŪ course. The school also offers courses in sales and broker pre-licensing, continuing education in agency law, commission standards, contract law, fair housing, and legal issues.
